Courses & Layouts

Setting up courses, layouts, and pin positions for events.

Overview

Dynasty lets coordinators set up courses and manage layouts with different tee positions and pin placements. This ensures accurate scoring and lets you track per-hole statistics across events.

Adding a Course

Courses represent physical disc golf venues. When setting up a course, you provide the course name and location. Dynasty can look up courses to avoid duplicates. Courses can be public (visible to other leagues) or private.

Course Layouts

A layout defines the specific configuration of holes for a course — which tees are being used, hole distances, and par values. You can create multiple layouts for the same course (e.g., "Front 9 — Long Tees" and "Full 18 — Short Tees"). Each hole in a layout can have multiple pin positions (A, B, C, etc.) with different distances.

Pin Positions

Pin position sets let you manage which pins are active across your layouts. When the course moves pins (e.g., from position A to position B), you update the pin position set and all linked layouts update automatically. This saves time when managing courses that rotate pins regularly.

Using Layouts in Events

When creating an event, you select which course and layout to use. Dynasty snapshots the layout at event creation time, so changes to the layout after the event don't affect historical results. Per-hole stats are tracked against the layout used for each event.
