Divisions
How to organize players into skill-based or custom divisions.
What Are Divisions?
Divisions let you organize players into groups within your league. This is useful for separating players by skill level, age, gender, or any other criteria. Standings and rankings can be calculated per division, giving everyone a fair competitive experience.
Default Division
Every league starts with a "General" division. All new members are assigned to this division by default. For casual leagues, you may not need additional divisions at all.
Creating Divisions
Coordinators can create additional divisions at any time:
- 1Go to your league settings and tap "Divisions."
- 2Tap "Add Division" to create a new one.
- 3Choose from PDGA-standard presets (like MPO, MA1, MA2, FPO, etc.) or create a custom division.
- 4Set an optional rating floor and ceiling to help with automatic player suggestions.
- 5Choose a color for the division (used throughout the app for visual identification).
PDGA Division Presets
Dynasty includes standard PDGA division codes for quick setup:
- Pro Open — MPO (Mixed Pro Open), FPO (Female Pro Open)
- Amateur — MA1 through MA4, FA1 through FA4 (graded by skill level)
- Masters (age-protected) — MP40, MP50, MP55, MP60, MP65, MP70 and female equivalents
- General — GEN (catch-all division)
Moving Players Between Divisions
Coordinators can move players between divisions at any time. Go to the league's player list, select a member, and choose their new division. If bag tags are enabled, the player's tag is automatically reassigned to the new division. Division changes take effect for the next event; past standings remain under the original division.
Rating-Based Division Suggestions
When you set rating floors and ceilings on divisions, Dynasty can suggest the best-fit division for players based on their skill level:
- Pro: Rating 950+
- Advanced: Rating 900–949
- Intermediate: Rating 850–899
- Recreational: Rating 800–849
- Beginner: Rating below 800
Division Visibility
Coordinators can choose whether ratings are visible to players or only to coordinators. You can also set a minimum number of events (default: 3) before a player's division rating is displayed, ensuring ratings stabilize before being shown.
