Putting Leagues
How putting-specific leagues and scoring work.
What Is a Putting League?
A putting league focuses exclusively on putting practice and competition. Instead of playing a full disc golf course, players putt from set distances at stations. It's a great format for venues without a full course or for players who want focused putting improvement.
How Putting Sessions Work
Each event in a putting league consists of one or more putting sessions:
- 1The coordinator creates a session and selects a layout (set of stations at various distances).
- 2Players are assigned to cards (singles or doubles).
- 3Each card rotates through stations, putting a set number of rounds at each distance.
- 4Makes and misses are recorded per putt.
- 5After all stations are complete, scores are tallied and standings generated.
Stations and Layouts
A putting layout defines the stations players will putt from. Each station has a distance (e.g., 15 feet, 25 feet, 33 feet) and optional point values. Coordinators create layout templates that can be reused across events. Layouts typically have 5–10 stations ranging from close C1 putts (under 33 feet) to longer C2 putts (33–66 feet).
Scoring Configuration
Coordinators can configure how putting scores are calculated:
- Simple — 1 point per make. Straightforward and easy to track.
- Bonus — Points per make plus bonus points if all putts in a round are made (e.g., 5 for 5).
- Distance-based — points scale by distance. Closer putts are worth fewer points, farther putts are worth more.
- Moneyball — A multiplier applied to specific distances or putts for extra excitement.
Putting Stats
Dynasty tracks detailed putting statistics:
- Overall accuracy (makes / attempts).
- C1 accuracy — putts from inside 33 feet.
- C2 accuracy — putts from 33–66 feet.
- Points per session.
- Trends over time so you can see your improvement.
Doubles Format
Putting leagues support a doubles format where two players are paired on each card. Their scores are combined for team standings. This is a fun, social way to run putting events and adds a team strategy element.
